Specification Sheets

DyneCell® Cylinder

The core of Dynetek's technology is the DyneCell cylinder. It is the fastest filling cylinder on the market.

A type 3 composite cylinder, the DyneCell is designed to store a variety of compressed gases at high pressure, including hydrogen, natural gas and various industrial gases. Dynetek has sold thousands of DyneCell cylinders worldwide to major automotive, heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers, industrial gas, transport, and energy sectors.

Lightweight

Compared to other cylinders, the DyneCell is one of the lightest on the market. Classified as a type 3 cylinder, the DyneCell is:

  • Approximately four times lighter than all-steel or aluminium tanks (type 1 cylinders)
  • Approximately one-third of the weight of steel or aluminium cylinders reinforced with filament wrapping (type 2 cylinders)
  • Up to 20% lighter than other cylinders on the market consisting of metal liner reinforced with filament wrapping (type 3 cylinders)
  • Up to 18% lighter than cylinders with non-metallic liners (such as plastic) with resin impregnated filament wrappings (type 4 cylinders)

Benefits to the Customer

Dynetek's lightweight cylinder design and material selection ensures many customer benefits:

  • Extends a vehicle's range and performance
  • Fastest filling cylinder on the market
  • Reduces fuel consumption
  • Increases vehicle payload capacity
  • Lowers vehicle maintenance and operating costs
  • Limited expansion and contraction under various pressures
  • Non permeable
  • Resistant to UV rays, acids, oils, salts, cleaning agents and water

Service Pressures Offered

The DyneCell currently has five main service pressures, 3000psi (200bar), 3600psi (250bar), 5000psi (350bar), 6500psi (450bar) and to a limited extent 10000psi (700bar). These pressures can be stored in a variety of cylinder sizes to meet customer needs. If Dynetek does not have a DyneCell that meets a customer's requirement, one can be designed. DyneCell cylinders are also available in single or dual port configurations.
